Amanpreet Singh’s (Rakul Preet Singh’s brother) forthcoming film, Ninne Pelladutha (directed by debutant Vykunt Bonu), is apparently based on a true incident of honor killing that happened last year in the Nalgonda district of Telangana. “When I heard the script, I could instantly connect to it. The plotline is about honor killing and it is based on a true incident that happened last year,” explains Aman, who adds, “The plot is realistic and contemporary, so people can connect to it.” The actor adds that the film is a family drama about a couple in a village from different communities who convince their elders and get married.

While Ninne Pelladutha is done with the talkie part, his other film is also nearing completion. Interestingly, for someone who wanted to enter films as a baddie, playing the protagonist was a surreal experience. “I prepared for two years and also gave various auditions. I even cried when I was rejected during auditions,” he reveals, adding, “I was able to draw a lot of strength from my sister (Rakul). My family also believed in me, and I am glad that I am enjoying what I love the most — acting.”

Apparently, Aman loves being on the sets of his sister’s films. “I came to know about the nitty-gritty of films while being with her on the sets. Even now, if I wrap up my shoot early, I love to drop in on her sets,” he explains.
