Kannada actress Parul Yadav seems to be broadening her repertoire. Not only is she starring in Butterfly, the Kannada version of Hindi film Queen, she is also turning co-producer for the film in all four south Indian languages.

Parul, who’ll be co-producing with Manu Kumaran, reveals, “The character in Queen does multi-tasking. Similarly, I am also someone who loves to multi-task. So I could connect to the character and believed this is the right project to be part of.” But the opportunity wasn’t handed to Parul on a platter. She says, “Several people competed for the remake rights of the Kannada version. Eventually, producer Manu Kumaran bagged it. He’s a feminist and I believe a feminist should produce the film because he can better understand and connect with the emotions. Since I could connect with the role, I joined the film as a co-producer.”

Admitting that it’s a challenge to act and produce, Parul says, “It’s all about planning. I asked my team to relieve me from production duties five days before I would shoot for my part. That way, I could manage both. But it was challenging and physically taxing.”
