Dimple Hayathi bonds with Sara Ali over food

It’s been a truly overwhelming week for Dimple Hayathi! While the actress wrapped up the first schedule of shooting for her Bollywood debut Atrangi Re and returned to Hyderabad from Karaikudi, she has just signed a new Telugu film, Khiladi, opposite Ravi Teja.

Dimple is paired with Dhanush in Atrangi Re, which also stars Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar.

“I play a village belle in the romantic drama,” says Dimple about the Aanand L.Rai directorial, adding that she bonded well with co-star Sara Ali Khan. “Our on-the-sets conversations were about travel and food. In fact, she loved south Indian food and couldn’t stop raving about it. Sara was curious to know what went into certain dishes,” shares Dimple, adding that the two of them had common interests such as travelling and books.

“We even worked out together,” the Abhientri 2 star reveals. Since we were shooting in a remote location we did not have access to gymnasium equipment. Dhanush sent us dumbbells and other weights so that our routine workout was not disturbed,” beams Dimple.

With regard to the Ravi Teja film, the actress says she’s all excited about the script. “It’s a glamorous role; director Ramesh Varma saw my photos on Instagram and approached me for the part. I instantly liked the script,” she says, adding that the filmmakers were also impressed by her dance moves in the special number Zarra Zarra from her earlier film.
