An Irish touch to Rajamouli’s film
Actress Alison Doody will be seen playing a baddie in RRR.
Rajamouli’s forthcoming film, RRR, is already the talk-of-the-town, and now, the ensemble cast — featuring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn — is all set to get an international makeover with Irish actress Alison Doody being cast as a baddie in the action drama.
Apparently, Rajamouli was fascinated with Doody’s screen presence and wanted to cast her in his film.
Given that RRR is a fictional drama revolving around India’s freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad respectively, Rajamouli was looking to cast a British actress to reflect the times and eventually zeroed in on Alison Doody, who was last seen in Division 19 (2017).
However, she actually shot to fame with the third installment of the Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
Interestingly, Irish actor Raymond Stevenson has also been roped in for an important part in the film, written by K.V. Vijayendra Prasad.
