It has been a whirlwind ride

Model-turned-actress Angela Krilinzki is thrilled with the way her career is shaping up. The actress of Polish descent, who made her Tollywood debut with a song in Puri Jagannadh’s Jyothi Lakshmi, followed by a cameo in Size Zero, has been eagerly looking forward to her forthcoming film Rogue, to embark on a long-term career in the south. However, the film has dramatically changed the course of things for her even before its release. Angela has recently signed up two prime projects in Telugu and Kannada, after the film’s audio launch. Recalling the exciting sequence of events, the actress reveals, “It has been a whirlwind ride for me. I bagged two films, one with a leading Telugu banner and the with Kannada superstar Sudeep, the day after Rogue's audio launch. I was told that they spotted me in the song at the event and decided to sign me soon after,” says the excited actress, adding that she has now decided to shift base completely to Hyderabad.

Her association with Puri first began when he signed her for Jyothi Lakshmi. “I was first spotted in a dance video in an advertisement and they felt that I was cut out for a bigger career. I was assured that language wasn’t a barrier as there were several actors from the North who had made a career here, and had mastered the language too.”

Later, Rogue happened. “Producer, C.R. Manohar (whose son Ishaan debuts with this film) wanted a popular face from Bengaluru to feature in the film, since he belongs to Karnataka. He saw my posters in Bangalore where I was the face of a famous jewellery brand. That’s when they zeroed in on me,” she exudes.

Angela will be seen sharing screen with Mannara Chopra in the film, but she insists that her character is well-defined and performance oriented. “I will undergo a total transition in the second half, from a glamorous girl to a homely one,” she says.

So, what was the experience of working with Puri like? “He is a one-take director, and finishes a scene in maximum two takes. Sharing a great camaraderie with the entire unit, he is a friend on one hand and a father-figure on the other,” she says.

Angela is now honing her language skills and claims to be well-versed with the nuances of Telugu already. “I have started learning Telugu. I don’t want to let go off this opportunity,” she says, smiling.
