One Wrong Move Cost Nupur Sanon a Big Ticket Movie?
Kannappa became a bigger project than Nupur imagined after she opted out of it
Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon's actress Nupur Sanon made her debut in Telugu with ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ opposite seasoned star Ravi Teja and also signed another film ‘Kannappa’ with Manchu Vishnu.
“Probably, she felt that her role in ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ could give her career the much-needed launch in Tollywood and would have followed the advice of few well-wishers to give up ‘Kannappa’ since Manchu Vishnu did not get score any big hits these days. Of course, she said that she had date issues and even Manchu Vishnu vouched for it. He relieved her from the project although she attended the grand muhurat of the film,” says a source.
But after watching her poorly-etched role in Ravi Teja’s movie, it looks like Nupur miscalculated things a bit. “Nupur was there for a few scenes and a song and didn’t have much to do in the action film. She tried to salvage her role with her looks and talent, but the role didn’t create any ripples in the film nor in the industry,” adds the source.
Meanwhile, “Kannappa’ grew in stature and turned out to be one of the biggest projects in Tollywood after superstar Prabhas and sensational actress Nayantara joined the team. The icing on the cake was Malayalam superstar Mohan Lal and Kannada star Shivrajkumar also coming on board to make the much-hyped devotional saga pan-India stuff. “Nupur has surely taken a wrong decision, if she had stepped out of the project for any other reason, except for lack of dates,” he concludes.
