Nirav Modi scam in Indian 2
Actor Kamal Haasan is far from giving up the star life; he will instead use it as a propaganda vehicle for his political party.
It’s ‘party’ time for Kamal Haasan, yet another actor who has sworn to clean up dirty politics with the broom of his idealism. However, it is very unlikely, in fact impossible, for Haasan to quit films for the sake of politics as he had earlier stated in a media interview.
Far from forsaking the world of cinema, Haasan will be using the recent Nirav Modi scam in the forthcoming sequel to director S. Shankar’s 1996 hit film, Indian, to propagate his political ideology.
“Indian was about eradicating corruption. Almost 22 years later, the subject has become even more topical. The Nirav Modi scam will definitely feature in Indian 2. There will be an attempt to incorporate Kamal Haasan’s political ideology in all of his future films,” says a source close to the actor.
Moreover, there is no reason for him to give up the very medium that has enabled him to stand tall in the realm of politics today. “He is definitely not giving up films. It would be like cutting off the branch on which he sits,” adds the source.
