I got bored of wearing lehengas, says Lavanya Tripathi
Lavanya Tripathi, ahead of her fourth release of the year, reveals that this role has been a breath of fresh air'.
Lavanya Tripathi, who has already had three releases this year, is looking forward to her next film, Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi (VOZ). The actress is paired opposite Ram Pothineni in the Kishore Tirumala directorial.
“I play Maggie, an ambitious girl a role that’s full of energy and close to my real life. The character gave me the opportunity to be myself. So far, I have played serious roles, but my role in VOZ comes like a breath of fresh air. My look is uber cool and I will be seen sporting Western wear and casuals. I got bored of wearing lehengas in all my earlier films,” she shares.
Stating that Kishore is a filmmaker with clarity of thought, Lavanya adds that the dialogues in the romantic entertainer are colloquial. “The film is about friendship and love, so the dialogues go with today’s conversations and are situational too,” she reveals, adding, “My language (Telugu) is getting better with each film, and it can be attributed to the fact that I am always on the lookout for new roles. They bring out my acting side.”
On her co-star Ram, the former Miss Uttarakhand says, “He’s one of the coolest co-stars I have worked with. We had several common interests like travelling and both of us are foodies.”
A complete contrast to VOZ, her next film Maayavan, directed by C.V. Kumar, is a crime-thriller and features Sundeep Kishan.
“This is my second Tamil film after Brahman. I play a psychiatrist, and my looks and outfits are trendy. To look the part, I researched a fair bit on how psychiatrists behave and counsel people. It’s a subtle and a realistic role. I know Sundeep since a long time and it’s always a pleasant feeling to work with someone who you know well,” she reveals.
