I was true to myself: Swetaa Varma
Swetaa Varma says Bigg Boss Telugu 5 was an amazing experience
Swetaa Varma’s stint in Bigg Boss Telugu 5 came to an end a couple of days ago. The actress was the sixth contestant to be eliminated from the reality show.
She describes the experience as ‘amazing’. “In the second week, I was a little nervous and low on energy. And that could be because of the guilt mode I was in as a result of a task. I even apologised for it, but somehow that guilt crept in,” shares Swetaa.
Although she was performing well during the tasks, Swetaa says doing it with a group was challenging. “I am someone who has independent views and I am also very competitive. Everyone is aware of my competitiveness. At times, performing within a group could pose a threat to other contestants,” she says.
Describing interactions with Bigg Boss contestants as a great learning experience, she says, “You come across people from different walks of life and you get great exposure of how people are and the mind games they play.”
Swetaa admits that though she was true to herself she lost herself a few times. “But that was ok because I could see my true side which also had some unpleasant things. I am grateful for the opportunities that were given to me,” she says, adding that in a show like Bigg Boss it is imperative to do what we love.
The actress was criticised for speaking too much English in the house. In fact, that was one of the reasons for her elimination.
“Personally, I feel I was true to myself. After my engineering degree, I worked in an MNC where English was the language to communicate,” she reveals, and says that it is the emotion that matters and not the expression of it. In conclusion, she says she was excited to get the call to be part of the show. “It was a nostalgic feeling because I used to watch this show with my parents.”
