I have begun to love acting, says Manisha Raj
Manisha adds that she has started embracing acting now.
Debutant Manisha admits that she never wanted to become an actress. Although she was born in India, her family shifted to the US when she was just four. Having completed her education, she returned to India last year to pursue her passions. “I was trying my hand at singing, lyric writing, etc. I also started giving auditions for various films, including Vaishnav Tej’s film,” she reveals, adding, “I was given a few scenes to perform during the audition followed by a screen test. Although I was apprehensive if I would make the cut or not, eventually I was thrilled to be on board.”
Admitting that she was nervous during the audition, Manisha says, “It took a while for me to calm down and give my best shot. Also, since it was for a big banner, I was very tensed. But all the unit members were very welcoming and understanding.”
Manisha adds that she has started embracing acting now. “I have begun to love acting as it gives me the opportunity to step into the shoes of a different person,” she says.
Her upcoming film, which had a grand launch on Monday, will see Manisha playing the role of a rustic girl. “It’s a love story and the challenge lies in looking the part. I am super excited for the role,” she shares.
