'Yashoda' Producer Buys Theatrical Rights of Muralitharan Biopic 800

Popular Telugu producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad, who tasted success with Samantha's starer 'Yashoda' has now brought the all India theatrical rights of cricket-based movie '800', a biopic on ace Sri Lankan spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan. It is being directed by MS Sripathy and it has Slumdog Millionaire fame Madhur Mittal and Mahima Nambiar in the lead roles.

"Muralitharan has crossed many hurdles in his life and has been a big inspiration for many cricketers. He had been through so many tough situations but always emerged stronger. He holds the enviable record for pocketing 800 wickets and our film title commemorates the same. Our film covers his journey from his childhood to becoming a cricketing legend. I am proud to release the film across India," said Prasad, who claims that the film originally shot in Tamil, will now be released in Telugu, Hindi and English.

The sports drama was extensively shot in Sri Lanka, England, Australia, Cochin, Chandigarh and Chennai on a lavish budget.

"Post production is going on now and we are planning to release the film in October. The trailer will be out in September," added Prasad.
