K'town can't get enough of Prabhas
Unlike Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan, who enjoy a good market in Tamil Nadu, Prabhas' Telugu films rarely get dubbed here.
Post the success of Baahubali, Prabhas’ stocks have risen to meteoric heights in K’town. So much so that one of his old T-town family dramas, Darling (2010), is now being dubbed in Tamil and is being released as Prabhas Baahubali. The movie, directed by Karunakaran, which had Kajal Aggarwal opposite the actor, had garnered good reviews besides being a box-office success.
Unlike Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan, who enjoy a good market in Tamil Nadu, Prabhas’ Telugu films rarely get dubbed here. But Baahubali did the magic and it looks like Prabhas’ earlier flicks might soon find a way in Kollywood.
Badrakali Films, which brought the Tamil-dubbed versions Magadheera, Bruce Lee, Evanda, and Selvandhan, is releasing Prabhas Baahubali as well. Veteran A.R.K. Rajaraja has been roped in for the film. The film will release before Baahubali: The Conclusion.
