Sunil to star in remake of Malayalam movie Two Countries
N Shankar has roped in Sunil, who is riding high with the success of Jakkanna.
After the likes of Drishyam and Malini 22 Vijayawada, another Malayalam hit movie Two Countries will be remade in Telugu. N. Shankar, who has hit films like Sri Ramulayya, Jayam Manadera and Jai Bolo Telangana to his credit, is set to produce and direct the film.
For the same, he has roped in Sunil, who is riding high with the success of Jakkanna. A hilarious romantic entertainer, Two Countries had collected more than Rs 55 crore and Dileep, Mamta Mohandas and Isha Talwar in the lead roles starred.
Initially, the remake rights were brought by producer Bandla Ganesh for a whopping Rs 50 lakh. According to a source, he tried to rope in big stars, but they were busy with their projects. Bandla then decided to give it to his friend Shankar, who is confident of the movie’s success in Tollywood. Shankar is currently working on the script and once completed, he will announce the other details.
