Whacky film choices paid off for me: Sundeep Kishan
Actor Sundeep Kishan says that entertainment is the need of the hour
It’s been more than a decade since Sundeep Kishan entered showbiz. The actor says that throughout the time, he has maintained his original approach of trying different genres of films and roles.
“Some may work and some may not, but I was always honest in my attempt,” he says. The A1 Express actor feels that while plotlines remain the same, there are new patterns of narrating stories.
“How you choose to narrate the story is changing with time and technology,” he says, citing his upcoming film, Gully Rowdy as an example. “I find the storyline of the G. Nageshwar Reddy directorial new — how a normal guy is forced to become a gangster and carry forward a legacy. What makes it an exciting watch is how we treat the film,” he shares.
“Gully Rowdy is a masala entertainer. I grew up watching such films and I am a big fan of the genre,” he says about the September 3 release, adding that masala entertainers are the desi ways of narrating tales.
Talking about the current scenario in light of the pandemic, the actor says, “Everyone is leading a stressful life, and I feel all are in need of entertainment to beat the stress.” He believes that every film has an audience, and how you take it to them is key. Sundeep says he has reached a point where he knows his audience.
“I have been whacky with my film choices and I have found a set of filmmakers with whom I have creative synergy,” he asserts, adding that he is now the best version of himself. He signs off with the comment “Who doesn’t like to improve himself?”
