Ranbir's Animal Telugu banks on AP viewers?
The Telugu version of much-hyped Hindi film ‘Animal’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Madanna has been bought for Rs 15 crores in two Telugu states, but sources claim that it would be difficult to recover such a big amount. “Frankly, only people in Andhra Pradesh watch Telugu version of ‘Animal’ but viewers in Telangana are comfortable watching Hindi version, so theatres for Telugu version will be less in number and even the collections would be less in comparison,” adds the source, who claims that Nizam region viewers ' knowledge of Hindi language is commendable.
“Hyderabadis are well-versed in Hindi and can easily follow the language, unlike Andhraites so Rs 15 crore is slightly on the higher side. It has to draw major collections from Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Nellore to cover the investment," he points out.
The much-hyped action adventure is slated for release on December 1 worldwide. "It is the highest price offered for a dubbed Hindi film in recent times," adds the source, who claims that the heroine Rashmika and director Sandeep Vanga are familiar to viewers in two Telugu states.
"Rashmika will be able to pull in crowds since has become a sensation among Telugu viewers after hits like ‘Geeta Govindam’ and “Pushpa’, while Sandeep Vanga became popular overnight after the blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’. Maybe, Telugu buyers are hopeful to draw more eyeballs with Ranbir Kapoor playing a fiery role,” he adds.
Now-a-days Bollywood stars are expanding their base in Telugu states since films like “Jawan’ and 'Tiger 3’ did well in Telugu states.
