Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-awaited 100th film will be launched on April 8.
According to a source, the actor has been confirmed for the historic and period drama of Gauthami Putra Sathakarni. “The film will be launched officially on April 8 in the capital of AP, Amaravathi,” says the source. The story is based in the ancient Amaravathi kingdom and the actor thus decided to launch the film there. Krish Jagarlamudi, who had impressed critics with his recent film Kanche, is the director.

“He had the film’s idea in his mind for long and he narrated it to Balakrishna who immediately agreed. Krish is now giving the final touches to the script,” says the source adding, “The budget for the film is high as it needs a lot of sets and costumes. It’s going to be a big budget film with a huge starcast.” The rest of the cast will be announced after the director finalises the script.
