Vijay Sethupathi ups his price!
The popular Tamil actor was reportedly paid Rs 5 crore for a role.
Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is playing a major character in the upcoming Telugu film Uppena that stars Panja Vaishnav Tej, the nephew of Chiranjeevi. Directed by debutant Buchi Babu, who worked earlier with director Sukumar, the film is being produced by Mytri Movie Makers who reportedly paid a huge amount to Vijay Sethupathy for his role.
“Vijay is one of the busiest actors in Tamil industry and is much in demand. When the makers approached him and narrated the story, he agreed to do the film, but for a premium,” says the source, adding that the actor charged nearly `5 crore for his role. The actor subsequently allotted nearly a month for the film shooting and as promised, completed his part.
Meanwhile, the source comments, “While even some of the lead actors do not charge this much, Vijay Sethupathi did.”
