A star kid minus the airs
Sriram says he considers Ashok as a younger brother.
Though filmmaker Sriram Adittya was flooded with scripts post the success of Devadas (Deva Daasu), starring Nagarjuna and Nani, he wasn’t in a hurry to take up any film until the project by Galla Ashok, son of politician Jayadev Galla, came by.
Talking about life after Devadas, Sriram reveals, “I’ve been working on a couple of scripts. But when I was offered Galla Ashok’s project, I was very excited. This script is very dear to me, and I’ve had it with me for a long time. I believe it suits a youngster and a newcomer like Ashok. When I bounced the idea to them, Ashok’s parents were pleased.”
According to Sriram, the yet-untitled screenplay-based film is an emotional journey about a spirited youngster who passionately pursues his dreams. The shooting of the first schedule was recently completed.
Sriram says he considers Ashok as a younger brother. “He comes from a superstar family but doesn’t have any airs and is open to learning. What’s inspiring to see is his approach to work. He’s quite prepared to walk the extra mile. So I guess he has a long stint in the industry,” he shares. Expressing his happiness to launch a star kid, Sriram states that being part of a first project is always memorable and emotional. “Also, producers and parents of Ashok, Padma garu and Jayadev garu, have been very supportive. They are people with good taste for cinema,” he adds.
