The Baahubali craze begins
While fans have been hankering to get tickets, distributors of the film are confident of breaking even.
The makers of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion have pulled all stops and are touring day and night, across the length and breadth of the country, to promote the film like never before. The team, which was in Dubai just the other day, came down to Hyderabad for yet another promotion.
Baahubali 2 is on everyone’s mind, whether it’s down South or in the capital city of New Delhi. Unlike the first film which became a blockbuster after its release, the producer has almost got table profits from the second part, with pre-booking completed in the first four days. Both Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh have given permission for an extra show for a few days, which will bring in huge benefits for the makers. No doubt that the distributors have put in a lot of money and bought the area-wise rights, but all of them are confident of breaking even. “With this extra show, we will get our money back in the first five days of the film if all shows will get a full house,” says a distributor. However, he adds that the fifth day is not as encouraging, as the demand for tickets was only for the first four days.
“We have already given tickets of the first day shows to the distributor, police officials and political leaders. If you want any tickets, we will provide them from the second day onwards,” says an exhibitor from Vizag, when asked for tickets. Meanwhile, a few others are trying to cash in on the hype by selling tickets in black for thousands of rupees. The film has already done a pre-business of Rs 122 crore in both the Telugu states.
