Mallesham, which was made with a low budget, is another such that has raked in critical acclaim.
Small-budget film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya collected a big amount at the box-office, earning its break-even on its very third day. Given the above development, it appears that the Telugu audience encourages different films, irrespective of the lead actors. The film saw not only an upcoming actor in Naveen but also the directorial debut of Swaroop. Made with a budget of `3 crore, the film has already collected Rs 6 crore in its first three days in the theatres. Even as the film is going strong, we are told that the makers are yet to sell out the film’s satellite and digital rights.
Mallesham, which was made with a low budget, is another such that has raked in critical acclaim. Of course, the makers are naturally happy about it. “They are expecting an award. The movie is definitely going to get a good amount through satellite and digital rights, so the makers are really happy about the outcome of the film too,” says a source. The coming week also sees the release of a few more small-budget films. Brochevarevarua, starring Sri Vishnu and Nivetha Thomas, Burrakatha, starring Aadi Saikumar, and Kalki by Rajasekhar are a few of those.
