Abhishek Agarwal Eyes Bollywood
The Vaccine War' set to release in 400-odd theatres across India on September 28.
With the much-hyped Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Vaccine War’ set to release in 400-odd theatres across India on September 28, Telugu producer Abhishek Agarwal’s Bollywood dreams are growing by the day. He has jointly spent over Rs 12 crores for his unique film and is expected to recover his investments much faster than expected. “We are hopeful of decent openings for 'The Vaccine War' since the teaser and trailer have received good response and buzz around the film is rising by the day,” says Telugu producer Abhishek Agarwal.
With the mighty commercial entertainer ‘Salaar’ starring Prabhas and directed by Prashanth Neel, being deferred from September 28, it would be easier for this thematic film to draw openings. “Firstly, we never had any competition with ‘Salaar’ since they belong to different genres. Our film ‘The Vaccine War’ is a content-driven film revolving around a unique theme of ‘bio-science’ so there was never a competition with a commercial film,” he informs.
He admits that the upcoming holiday weekend till October 2, would be to his advantage. “The long weekend holiday is bound to fetch us some good numbers, otherwise we are largely banking on word-of-mouth publicity. Since story-driven movies work in their own space and time," he reasons.
The producer tasted massive success across India with ‘The Kashmir Files’ and is hoping to make more films in Bollywood. “I would like to make star-studded films in Bollywood like in Tollywood. I am looking for the right script since the Hindi audiences patronize novel content these days,” he informs.
He is in talks with a few big stars and directors in Bollywood. "We'll let you know soon," he cuts short. He is also hopeful of his big-ticket Telugu film ‘Tiger Nageswara Rao’ starring Ravi Teja set to release in November. “It will be another mass entertainer with loads of action and entertainment,” he concludes.
