Mahesh Babu has a task at hand with Guntur Kaaram

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu has to deliver a smashing hit with his next release ‘Guntur Kaaram’ to enthrall his huge fan following and general audience alike. Although his films like ‘Sarileru Neekavaru’ and ‘Sarkari Vaari Paata’ fared well, he needs to touch Rs 150 to 200 crore mark with his wholesome entertainer with ace director Trivikram Srinivas.

“The combination of Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas has already triggered a lot of buzz around the film and they have to dish out a sensational blockbuster which crosses Rs 200 crore mark to prove his charisma,” says a source.  

No doubt, Mahesh Babu’s ‘Guntur Kaaram’ is among much-anticipated films in Telugu. The movie has the same expectations as films like 'Pushpa: The Rule,' and 'Salaar' in the industry. "It is not designed as a pan-India film rather as a regional-centric film that connects with Telugu audiences in two states and also overseas since Mahesh Babu has a huge following in the United States of America. He was the original overseas Badshah with hits like ‘Athadu’ and 'Dookudu' before his rivals took over as he paved the way for them,” he adds.

The recent poster unveiled during Dussehra, the actor looked stylish and carried an attitude. He captioned the picture on Instagram, “Lighting the way to a great year ahead!!”  After a long gap, Mahesh Babu is smoking a cigarette on screen.

“His stardom is intact but he needs to cross the Rs 150 crore mark faster and set a new record in box office. He has to overcome his rivals and prove that he is called a superstar just for the name sake. Trivikram showcases heroism besides blending love and family drama, so it looks to be the best bet for Mahesh to reach out to the audience as much as possible," he concludes.
