Quest for second protagonist in 'Mahasamudram', directed by Ajay Bhupathi of RX100 fame, seems to have ended

Although actor Sharwanand’s name was confirmed as one of the protagonists in filmmaker Ajay Bhupathi’s upcoming film, Mahasamudram, the director has been on the lookout for another protagonist. It looks as if the wait is finally over! We have reliably learnt that Siddharth has been zeroed in on as the other lead actor.

One of the reasons the filmmaker approached Siddharth was because of his natural knack of effortlessly slipping into the skin of any character.

“Siddharth would be an ideal choice for one of the protagonists’ roles because he’s a natural performer. Moreover, since the Telugu audience haven’t seen much of him in the last few years, his casting will come as a breath of fresh air,” says a source.

The filmmaker recently (before the lockdown started) gave the script to Siddharth and the actor reportedly loved the intensity and depth of the role.

The actor believes that the intense action drama will be the right film for him to stage a comeback to Telugu cinema.

“The role is very challenging and that’s something Siddharth has long been looking for to stage a comeback to Telugu after his 2013 film, 'Jabardasth'.

He liked the script and was ready to come on board. The details will be worked upon post the lockdown,” adds the source. Anil Sunkara is producing the film.
