Shweta Avasthi in a crime comedy, Dilwala
The actress is working on a web series too
Shweta Avasthi is all set to be seen in Dilwala, a crime comedy directed by Veerabhadram Chowdary, in which she’s paired with Naresh Agastya.
Shweta says it was her performance in her debut film Merise Merise, which Veerabhadram saw and liked, that won her the role.
“He gave me a brief narration, and I got the hang of the character quickly,” she shares, adding that she plays a chirpy girl in the film. “I am working on my diction to get my lines and expressions right,” she adds.
“A lot of things happen around me, and the protagonist sees me in a miserable situation. He tries to help me get out of the predicament,” says the actress, who is also working on a web series directed by Suresh Krissna.
It’s been three years since she came into the industry, and Shweta says she’s getting used to the dynamics of the trade — erratic schedules, sudden shoot cancellations, etc. “Since I have been frequenting Hyderabad, the city has become my second home. And I have a big circle of friends here too,” she says.
Interestingly, when Shweta is not working in films, she’s an entrepreneur. She has been running a hostel for girls in Pune for the last six years, and also owns a hotel.
As a working woman, whenever she had to go out of Pune, she found herself searching for safe and clean accommodation. “I felt girls who want to stay or work in Pune feel the same. Hence, I started a safe and a hygiene hostel facility,” she reveals, adding that her entrepreneurship functions as a backup plan.
