Ravi Teja Eagle' struggling hard to find buyers?
Distributors are bit wary since Ravi Teja earlier films like 'Tiger Nageshwara Rao' tanked at the box office
If reliable sources are to be believed, seasoned star Ravi Teja movie ‘Eagle’ is struggling hard to find buyers since reportedly the prices quoted by producers are on the higher side. "Some areas have not been closed yet and discussions are underway,” says a source and adds, “Ravi Teja last films like ‘Ravanasura’ and ‘Tiger Nageshwara Rao’ failed to impress Telugu viewers so distributors in two Telugu states are bit wary,” he adds. The much-hyped movie is being produced by People Media Factory.
Even the Hindi dubbing rights of ‘Eagle’ yet to be closed and producers are negotiating with Bollywood distributors to clinch a favourable deal. “Hindi dubbing rights is a major earner for star-studded movies but ‘Eagle’ rates are on higher side and taking time to ink the deal,” he points out.
With just two weeks to go for the release of the big ticket film, producers are bit worried. “Distributors always go by previous hits and flops and they are quite adamant about shelling out appropriate amount since they don’t like to take big risks,” he adds.
With "Eagle" set to clash with other biggies like ‘Guntur Kaaram’ and ‘Saindhav’ during Pongal holidays, the producers could look for a better time to release the film. "Ravi Teja needs a good number of theatres to draw good openings and then sustain in theatres to garner good collections. They could consider another date, if things don’t fall in place,’ he concludes. No doubt, Ravi Teja has to bounce back into the reckoning sooner than later since he has a hit lean patch of sorts and he has to return with a bang with action adventure ‘Eagle’ and silence his detractors.
