After the success of his directorial debut Strawberry, National-Award winning lyricist, and actor-director Pa Vijay is all set for his second release. The film, Arudra, said to be a social thriller based on true incidents, is scheduled to hit the screens in Telugu soon.

Written by Vijay himself, the film aims to create awareness among children, especially girls, about the social issues they face in their everyday lives.

Vijay says, “Given the alarming increase of child abuse, I believe this is the right time to make a film that creates awareness about the issues faced by a girl child on daily basis. I have done a lot of research about these issues, and the film shows the distress of children.”

Explaining how his film is different from other awareness-creation efforts, he says “Although there are extensive campaigns about ‘good touch and bad touch’ among children, my film hopes to convey a message that will have an impact on adolescents and parents, and give them clarity.”

The film, which stars S.A. Chandrasekar, Bhagyaraj and Y.G. Mahendran, is being released by K. Vasudeva Rao in Telugu.
