Yesteryear actress Sangeeta moves to Hyderabad
Politics and producing is up her alley.
Yesteryear actress Sangeeta shifted her residence to Hyderabad from Chennai. Popular as Mutyala Muggu Sangeeta, the actress has been seen in nearly 600 films in several languages. “My first film was Theerpu, but I became popular with Mutyala Muggu,” says Sangeetha. The film was released in 1975 and she acted in nearly 100 Telugu films as the lead actress.
“I got offers from many Tamil and Malayalam films and so, I settled in Chennai. But I realised that I started with Telugu and I don’t want to be distant from it anymore,” she explains. Originally from Warangal, the actress says that director Bapu and Visweswara Rao had encouraged her during her initial days in the industry. “It’s always been a great experience to work with Bapu garu” she says.
The actress is also interested in politics. “I will first meet Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and then announce my entry into politics,” she says. She wishes to join the TRS party soon and admits that though she is not interested in direction, she wants to produce films.
