Director Ram Gopal Varma has announced that he will fight his recent detention in Vijayawada legally. On Monday, the controversial director told the media that he wanted to know the reasons behind his detention.  “The police detained me for seven hours without any reason. When I asked them for the same, they simply mentioned some ‘higher authorities’. When Jagan was attacked inside the airport, the police said that it was not their jurisdiction, but how come they detained me inside the airport and arrested me? Are we living in a democratic country?” asked a livid Ram Gopal Varma, who added, “Is it North Korea or Andhra Pradesh that I need a special visa to go there?”

Disagreeing with his advocate that Chandrababu Naidu was merely a caretaker Chief Minister without any powers, RGV lashed out on Twitter, “That’s his legal opinion but if my film Lakshmi’s NTR releases there, Naidu is going to suffer, that’s why he is stopping it (sic).”  Meanwhile, producer Rakesh Reddy said that the film would release on May 1 in 400 screens in Andhra Pradesh. “After this whole episode, if there is more demand, we may add some more screens,” he said.  Like on earlier occasions, seems like RGV is getting good mileage for his film by grabbing all the attention once again.
