2.0 will release in summer 2018
Although Akshay Kumar plays a key role in 2.0, the January date was clashing with his Bollywood release.
The release of Rajinikanth’s much-awaited 2.0 might just be pushed. The film that stars Akshay Kumar in the pivotal role of an antagonist, is now slated for a summer 2018 release. While the initial plan was to release the science-fiction film on Republic Day next year, the makers decided to change the dates as the Bollywood star’s Padman will also hit theatres on January 26.
“The makers had an elaborate discussion about the release date of 2.0. In fact, they did consider going ahead and releasing the film on the same day. However, they felt it would be an injustice to both the films. And so, they decided to go for the next best release date,” shares a source. Meanwhile, the film’s recent audio launch in Dubai has created a great deal of buzz around the grand film.
