Actresses Shalini Pandey and Sai Pallavi left everyone in awe with their debut performances in Arjun Reddy and Fidaa respectively. While Shalini went on a signing spree soon after — around four Tamil and two Telugu films — Sai Pallavi too has been constantly linked to almost every major project announced. The actress is currently busy with two more films.

Rise of Sankalp Reddy
Yet another film that got noticed was the small film Ghazi. Directed by Sankalp Reddy, the film was the first Indian underwater war film made on celluloid. Set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan war that happened in the Bay of Bengal near Visakhapatnam, the film was made on par with international standards and Sankalp Reddy became a much sought after director post its release.
Revanth is Indian Idol 9
Playback singer Revanth bagged the most-coveted title of Indian Idol in the Season 9 of the singing reality show this year. The 27-year-old earlier sang hit numbers including Manohari in Baahubali: The Beginning. He is the second Telugu singer to have won the award after Sreeram Chandra (2010).
National award for Sathamanam Bhavathi
It was a proud moment for the Telugu film industry, as three films make it to the list of winners in the 64th National Film Awards. While Pelli Choopulu won the Best Telugu Film and Dialogues award, Janatha Garage won the Best Choreography award. But the real big one went to Satish Vegesna’s directorial Sathamanam Bhavathi, which won the Best Popular Film providing Wholesome Entertainment.
TV chronicles
Jr NTR’s TV debut as the host of reality show Bigg Boss was a massive hit, his contemporary, Rana Daggubati hosted Yaari No 1, which was also well received.
