Harikrishna did 13 films and got a Nandi Award
Though his film career was very short, he won a prestigious Nandi which is quite a rare feat.
Harikrishna acted in only 13 films, including three as a child artiste. However, his acting prowess won him a Nandi Award for Best Character Actor in the year 2002 for the film Lahiri Lahiri Lahirilo. Interestingly, his co-star Bhanupriya also won an award for the same film.
Though his film career was very short, he won a prestigious Nandi which is quite a rare feat. The film was incidentally a big success and the 100th day function was held in Gudivada, Harikrishna’s native place. “When I started shooting for the film, I promised that I would celebrate the 100-day run of the film at Gudivada. He was very happy and appreciated me at that time,” recalls Y.V.S. Chaudhary, director and producer of the film.
He had no airs: M.M. Keeravani
Following Nandamuri Harikrishna’s death on Wednesday in a road accident, popular music director M.M. Keeravani took to Twitter to share an interesting anecdote about him.
The incident reportedly happened when his father N.T. Rama Rao was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. One day, Harikrishna was driving his car and ran through the Musheerabad traffic signal. Upon being stopped by the police and asked to pay a challan, Harikrishna paid it and quietly left!
Keeravani showered praise on Harikrishna’s character, saying that he never used his father’s name or told the police constable who he was, but simply chose to follow the rules.
