NTR's Devara Budget Crosses 100 Crores

With the combination of superstar Jr NTR and hit-maker Koratala Siva teaming up for an action-adventure ‘Devara’ to be made with Rs 120 crore since expectations are soaring for the big ticket movie. “Producer Hari Krishna has revised their budget plans and is now willing to shell out more than Rs 120 crores, over their earlier plan of Rs 90 crore to erect sets, shoot underwater action episodes, CG work, and picturesque lavish songs in foreign soil,” says a source.

In the past, the actor-director duo delivered a blockbuster ‘Janata Garage,’ and their coming together has triggered expectations. “Koratala has designed a script that demands a lot of action. He was inspired by real-life incidents like the Karamchedu massacre where Dalits were butchered to death by upper caste thugs and demanded widely designed action blocks,” he adds.

Even the remunerations of Bollywood stars like Jhanvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have added to the budgetary estimates since they wanted an actress with pan-India appeal and also a villain who wasn’t seen in Telugu films in the past. “Crazy combinations added to production cost, but they are worth it because they bring in brand value to the massive project,’ he concludes.
