Prabhas to put Salaar 2 on track, to allot 40 days?
After tasting massive success with ‘Kalki 288 AD,’ reigning star Prabhas is reportedly planning to revive ‘Salaar 2’ since it was put on hold for over budgeting. “Prabhas has a soft corner for the sequel since ‘Salaar’ enhanced his action image and he also likes the working style of director Prashanth Neel,” says a source and adds, “With Kalki making more than Rs 500 crore net collections, the market of Prabhas has expanded and he is definitely going to allot 40 days to revive ‘Salaar 2’ and put it back on track this year,” he adds.
Starring Prabhas, Shruti Hassan and directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar is an action-adventure film set against the fictional city of Khansar as it focuses on the clash of feudal lords to capture power. “Prabhas fights big battles to help his childhood friend Prithviraj to defeat his dreaded rivals,” the source adds. Now, that its sequel reportedly shows the concept of friend-turned-foes through Prabhas and Prithviraj, it would be like the clash of titans. “Salaar continuation has a lot of emotional core and also big bang action episodes since Prabhas takes on Prithviraj who rules a kingdom,” it concludes.Prabhas and Prashanth Neell
While 'Salaar' was made with Rs 270 crore, the director came up with a revised budget of Rs 340 crores for 'Salaar 2. "Kalki’s big success could inspire even producer Vijay Kirgandur to dig deep into his pockets and commence the film,” he concludes.
