Ram Charan to honour his word to AR Rahman
A.R. Rahman, one of India’s most celebrated musicians, is known not only for his musical genius but also for his deep spirituality. Among his cherished practices is visiting the revered Kadapa Dargah in Andhra Pradesh, a tradition he has upheld for years. Notably, Rahman visited the shrine after his historic Oscar win for Slumdog Millionaire.
This year, the Kadapa Dargah becomes the stage for a special occasion—the 80th Mushaira Ghazal event. A.R. Rahman and Charan's connection runs deeper than this event, as Rahman is currently composing music for Ram Charan's much-anticipated film, helmed by director Buchi Babu Sana.
Ram Charan, who is observing his Sabarimala Deeksha, has decided to make a rare visit to the Kadapa Dargah, fulfilling a promise made to A.R. Rahman. A source close to the actor revealed that Rahman personally invited the RRR star to the event, emphasizing its cultural and emotional significance.
The event has also sparked excitement about Ram Charan’s upcoming film, Game Changer. Directed by Shankar and set for release on January 10, 2024, the film has been in production for three years. Ram Charan takes on a challenging double role, with Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. Produced by Dil Raju, the film's teaser was recently launched in Lucknow to widespread acclaim.
Adding to the anticipation, A.R. Rahman has already composed four songs for the film. Once shooting resumes, a key track will be filmed, further fueling interest among fans.
Ram Charan and A.R. Rahman’s association has created a buzz, with the Kadapa Dargah event marking a significant moment in their professional journey. The blend of spirituality and artistry, combined with the legacy of the 80th Mushaira Ghazal event, has made this occasion a trending topic.
