Siddhu Jonnalagadda Reinvents Himself: From Flamboyant DJ Tillu to Charming Telusu Kada

Young actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda rose to fame with racy entertainer ‘DJ Tillu’ as his mannerisms and typical dialogue delivery became a rage among Telugu viewers and he became a star overnight. “He followed it up with its sequel ‘Tillu Square’ and it rocked the box office and eventually ‘DJ Tillu persona has stuck to him,’ says a director who adds, “Now, he is doing a romantic comedy ‘Telusu Kada’ with debutant director Neeraja Kona and he has also cut his hair short and looking very simple and decent,” he adds.

He was known for his curly hair, flashy costumes, and flamboyant attitude but now he is turning a bit sobre and boy-next-door stuff. “Every actor has gone through these hangover blues since the audience connects to certain roles and characters. It was difficult for them to shun it. Siddhu who is also a good writer will have to reinvent himself and draw viewers with his new avatar and performance since he can’t be doing the same character again and again,” he points out.

No doubt, Siddhu will return to ‘Tillu Cube’ sometime next year and he is doing another film with director Bommarillu Bhaskar who is also known to project his heroes in an upright manner and would avoid grey shades. “These two different films have to bring Siddhu out of his old persona and make him an actor who can do all kinds of roles, but it is not as easy as it made out to be,’ he concludes.
