Bollywood star Varun Dhawan came out in support of Telugu superstar Allu Arjun after he was arrested by the Hyderabad police on Friday in connection with the Pushpa 2 stampede incident in Hyderabad on December 4.

Speaking at an event, Varun Dhawan said, ""Safety protocols can't be solely the responsibility of an actor. We can inform people around us. The incident (Pushpa Stampede) was tragic and I express my condolences, but blame can't be placed on just one person."
The tragic incident happened at the Sandhya 70 mm theatre in Hyderabad in December during a premier screening of Pushpa 2 The Rule, killing a woman and injuring several others.
The Hyderabad police on the complaint of the deceased's husband have charged Allu Arjun, his security team and the theatre management. They were accused of negligence and not informing officials about the visit.
The Chikkadpally police arrested Pushpa star under provisions of 105 (culpable homicide that doesn't amount to murder) and 118(1) (causing hurt or grievous hurt to someone using dangerous weapons or harmful means) read with 3(5) of BNS.
Meanwhile, popular Tollywood celebrities remained silent on the issue until now. However, actor Chiranjeevi along with wife Surekha have reached Allu Arvind's residence in Hyderabad as a mark of solidarity.
