Actor-producer Vishnu Manchu claims that they deferred the release of his much-hyped socio-fantasy ‘Kannappa’ since they have pending work in the film.

Actor-producer Vishnu Manchu has announced the postponement of his highly anticipated socio-fantasy film Kannappa. Initially planned for a December release, the film is now scheduled to hit theaters in April. Vishnu cited pending work and strategic planning to avoid clashes with major releases like Pushpa 2. “We wanted a December release, but with Pushpa 2 arriving, we decided to shift to April,” he explained during a recent media interaction. “We’re coordinating with producers of star-studded films to ensure smoother scheduling.”

Designed as a pan-India project, Kannappa will release in multiple languages, including Telugu and Hindi. Vishnu also highlighted that the same distributors are handling both Pushpa and Kannappa, necessitating careful adjustments. “We’re shooting a significant sequence in Paris, which will wrap up by December,” he revealed.

The semi-historical film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Mohanlal, heightening expectations. Vishnu emphasized the challenges of modern filmmaking, particularly in handling advanced visual effects. “I’m learning a lot about VFX, which is more demanding now. Post-production and background score work are still ongoing,” he noted.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by 24 Frames Factory, Kannappa narrates the legendary tale of a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, blending mythology with cinematic grandeur.
