Anam Ramanarayana Reddy blames TD of divisive politics
YSR Congress also playing with sentiments of people on regional lines.
Nellore: Finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy accused the Telugu Desam and the YSR Congress of playing with the sentiments of the people of the state on the regional lines to derive political advantage ahead of the general elections.
The finance minister, who spoke to media persons after inaugurating a fertilisers distribution centre at Stonehouse-peta in Nellore district on Sunday, observed that the Telugu Desam which has sat in the opposition for too long has been trying to hoodwink the people with its double stance on the bifurcation issue, just to derive political advantage ahead of the elections.
The principal opposition party of the state still does not have a clear-cut stand on the bifurcation issue, he said adding, it continues to tow the Samaikyandhra line in Seemandhra region, and in parallel pledges its support for the division of the state in Telangana region.
The finance minister equally lashed out at the YSR Congress for which it is only getting to power which matters, and not the interests of the people of the state. The minister wondered if the YSRC is really committed to united Andhra Pradesh, or it is just a strategy of the party to gain ground in the Seemandhra region, with its presence very little felt in the Telangana region.
Reiterating his commitment for the cause of Samaikyandhra, the minister expressed confidence that the T bill would be defeated in the Assembly if voting is held, with a majority of the MLAs in the Assembly strongly in support of a united Andhra Pradesh. DCCB chairman Dhanunjaya Reddy, MLC Narayana Reddy and other officials of the district administration took part in the minister’s programme.
