Bangalore: The cabinet expansion has brought a new set of woes - of allocation of chambers to the new ministers.
On Friday, the third floor of Vidhana Soudha witnessed commotion when social welfare minister H. Anjaneya gave a mouthful to a senior officer for ‘ignoring' the minister's direction to remodel his chamber by combining three rooms- 340, 340A and 341.
According to sources, Anjaneya, who had occupied Room No. 336 as a stop-gap was furious that the officer had refused to break a wall to combine the rooms.
To make matters worse, the newly inducted power minister D.K. Shivakumar is said to have requested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday evening to allot Room No 340 to him.
Anjaneya who came to Vidhana Soudha on Friday, to release a calendar in his department, wasted no time in shifting into the new chamber, and ordered his staff to move to the new chamber lock stock and barrel. By afternoon, the minister had ensured that even the name plate was moved to the new address.
