Oye! Game for a party?
Four Bengalureans, are on a mission to spread the news on partying in the city through their online startup
Four graduates Burhan, Rashida, Manoj and Ranjan quit their jobs to make partying easier for Bengalureans. They formulated an idea and created a platform about all the hot and happening events/parties in the city through their website Oyeparty. Now a super successful venture, it receives more than a 5000+ bookings on a year and is operational in five cities across the country.
Bad experiences in parties, led these IITians to come up with Oyeparty to ensure partygoers know where to go and what to expect. “We usually party with friends and sometimes it turns out to be a boring night out. That’s what led us to this initiative as we wanted to create an engagement platform for youngsters to know about each party better,” begins, Burhaanuddin Pithawala, the creative head. It is not just another event booking site marketing which promotes parties, ensure maximum coverage of the event.
What is more interesting is that, they develop subsequent products based on the feedback that they receive from their customers. Manoj Chandran, speaks of the recent campaign during New year eve where they organised a ‘Responsible Nightlife’ campaign. “It was setup to bring about a change in new-year parties says,” Manoj, who handles the operations. He adds, “In the feedback forms, most of them had complained about the difficulty in finding cab services after nightouts. Thus, we decided to tackle the situation this year,” It involved making a cab reservation along with the party ticket and it was a flawless plan as they say proudly, that there were no confusions and customers were quite happy with the service. says Rashida, who handles online marketing.
Their future plans include trying to create a platform for the public to voice their opinion about each party. Ranjan Kumar says, “We are now working on creating a virtual place for eg: People can speak about the artist who is going to perform, the venue, the food of each party and rate their experience. This ensures partygoers to be able to rightly decide whether it is a party worth going to.” True, with the prices of each night out soaring through the roof, these platforms are a welcome sign.
