Rs 1.6 crore found in car in AP

Hyderabad: Cash worth Rs 1.6 crore was recovered from a car in Andhra Pradesh's Khammam district during vehicle checking, police said today.
The amount was kept in a bag and police recovered it during vehicle checking last night, according to Khammam District Superintendent of Police A V Ranganath.
"It seems the amount belongs to some farmers of Cherla in Bhadrachalam mandal and they were in the process of handing it over to a commission agent in Mandapeta in East Godavari district.
However, we are getting it inquired," the SP said. Some persons, who claimed to own the amount, have been asked to give their explanation and further investigations were on in this regard, the official added.
