HMDA grants permission to high-rise at Amber Cheruvu
The HMDA has flouted its own rules and granting building permission for a high-rise within the boundaries.
Hyderabad: The HMDA has flouted its own rules and granting building permission for a high-rise within the boundaries of Amber Cheruvu, popularly known as Pragatinagar Lake near Kukatpally.
The builder has also put up a huge board at the site displaying the proposed building structure which lies within the Full Tank Level. Civil societies are questioning the civic body on what grounds were the permission granted; the HMDA is yet to reply on the issue.
Bala Swamy, resident of Pragatinagar who wrote to the HMDA regarding the violation, said that the constructor had put up a board of the building which was within the FTL. The permission No. is 215/bp//zom/HMDA/2012 dated February 27, 2013.
“The building is a five-floor structure and two floors have already been completed. After our complaint, irrigation officials visited the site once but no action was taken.” An HMDA Lake Protection Committee official said the issue would be verified.
