Top performers from India versus Bangladesh Test in Hyderabad

Virat Kohli's India defeated Bangladesh by 208 runs to seal their sixth consecutive Test series win.

Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team extended their unbeaten run in Test cricket to 19 games and clinched their sixth consecutive Test series win after securing a 208-run win over Bangladesh in the one-off Test in Hyderabad. Here are some of the top performers fro the Test. (Photo: BCCI)
Umesh Yadav: Umesh Yadav, the Test bowler, had been a revelation this season. While he has been unlucky not to have too many wickets to show in the wickets column, with catches being dropped and ball missing the edges of bat, the Vidarbha pacer was India's best bowler in the first innings by a long margin. So much was his finesse with the ball that even Shakib Al Hasan, the most experienced Bangladeshi cricketer, had termed Umesh's spell on day three as the best he has ever faced. (Photo: AP)
Mehedi Hasan Miraz: He may not have too many wickets to show against his name like he had during the two-match England series but the young off-spinner toiled hard in his first game on the Indian soil. Mehedi Hasan also showed how gritty and capable he is with a half-century in the first innings. The 19-year-old cricketer, if he continues to work on his game, will be pivotal to Bangladesh's future. Wriddhiman Saha: Indian selectors had backed him despite Parthiv Patel's commanding performance with the bat in the last three Tests against England and Wriddhiman Saha, who scored an attacking double ton in the Irani Cup ahead of Hyderabad Test against Bangladesh, did full justice to selectors' faith in him as he notched up his second Test ton. Ravindra Jadeja: Six wickets, 76 runs and a catch Ravindra Jadeja played his role of an all-rounder to perfection. He scored a quickfire sixty in the first innings and scalped four wickets in Bangladesh's second innings as India pressed for victory at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. While Kohli had lost his cool on Jadeja once for his poor throw, the captain would have been extremely happy with Jadeja's overall performance in the Test. (Photo: BCCI)
Mushfiqur Rahim: While he was criticised for his poor DRS referral against Virat Kohli and a little shoddy work as a wicketkeeper, Mushfiqur Rahim the batsman did what he does the best; to play a gritty knock when his team was under pressure. Cheteshwar Pujara: Cheteshwar Pujara may have missed out on a hundred but he made sure he had two half-centuries (82 and 50 not out) against his name. Murali Vijay: He has been India's first choice opener since last couple of years and he continued to prove his supporters right with ninth Test hundred during the one-off Test against Bangladesh.
