Toronto pride parade kicks off, PM Justin Trudeau joins in

Justin Trudeau has made history by marching with tens of thousands of people in Toronto's Gay Pride parade, becoming the country's first sitting prime minister to participate.
The parade began at Bloor and Church streets at 2 pm and ended at Yonge-Dundas Square, where pop group DNCE, singing string quartet Well-Strung and Glee star Alex Newell were set to perform.
Hamilton resident Rob Roxy -- painted head-to-toe in blue paint in a tiger-like design -- travelled to Oshawa to get painted by an artist and then came back to Toronto to be in the parade.
Toronto police have not released an official attendance count, but organisers had expected one million attendees.

The colourful procession observed a minute of silence to pay respect to the victims of the June 12 nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida that left 49 dead.
The youthful politician, whose popularity is soaring, donned a salmon-coloured, button-down shirt and white jeans, taking selfies and shaking hands with those lining the parade route.
Thunderous applause greeted Trudeau as he paraded down a main Toronto artery yesterday, waving a Canadian maple-leaf flag bordered with a rainbow.
