Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, speaking at the National Education Day and Minorities Welfare Day celebrations at Ravindra Bharati on Monday, referred to Hindus and Muslims as the “two eyes” of the state government. He emphasised the vital role minorities have played in bringing Congress to power in Telangana and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to development through stronger education, healthcare, and job creation for all communities.

Reddy also drew a sharp contrast between the two major political families in India, stating, “There are two Parivars in the country: the Modi Parivar, which fosters division, and the Gandhi Parivar, which works for unity.”

The Chief Minister paid tribute to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, praising his education policy that aimed to provide better education to all citizens. He reiterated Congress’ belief in treating Muslims as family members rather than mere vote banks.

Addressing the absence of a minority minister in the state cabinet, Reddy explained that no MLA from the minority community had been elected in the recent Assembly elections. However, the Congress government appointed senior leader Shabbir Ali as a government advisor and gave an MLC post to Aamir Ali Khan. Additionally, minority representatives have been included in state corporations and the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), a move not seen since Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy’s tenure.

Revanth Reddy urged minorities to support Congress in the upcoming Maharashtra elections, stressing that only Congress could deliver justice for all communities. He called on party members to tirelessly work for the defeat of the Modi government and the elevation of Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister.

At the event, Revanth Reddy launched the TGMREIS website and online Integrated Command Centre and presented the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Awards.
