Opening up about her career as a child movie star — starring as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series of movies between 2001 and 2011 — Emma Watson has said that she was “terrified” of being world famous at the age of 10.
“The level of questioning I was under, coming at such a young age. People asking me ‘What do you think of this? Who are you, who are you, who are you?’ I questioned everything. I was terrified by the level of interest in me,” the actress said in an interview with Porter.
Emma, who has now also become an activist for women’s rights, added, “Now, at 25, for the first time in my life I feel like I have a sense of self that I’m comfortable with.”
