Visakhapatnam: Sporting a new, young and energetic line-up, Vizag city’s own kabaddi team,  Telugu Titans, are all set to commence their campaign  against defending champions U-Mumba in Pro-Kabaddi Season-3 in their home venue Vizag from January 30. The Telugu Titans are much confident to lift the champions’ trophy this season. The franchise, owned by Srinivas Sriramineni,  launched the new team in Vizag on Thursday. Semi-finalist in the Season-2, Telugu Titans will be lead by star rider Rahul Chaudhari for Season-3.

Gloomy show in the semi-finals against the Bengaluru Bull in the second edition of Pro-Kabaddi led Vizag franchise Telugu Titans to overhaul their team, including new defenders and new coach. The new-look team with four changes from the 2015 squad will have a new coach in Ramesh B. Though the Telugu Titans have drafted in experienced Dharmaraj Cheralathan, defender (who’s brother Gopu is already with the Titans) from Bengaluru Bulls in the season -3, Titans have lost best all-rounder Deepak Nivas Hudda and Sandeep Khandola. Now, Titans have only one all-rounder Meraj Sheykh.

“We are confident of a good show and pin hopes on Titans to clinch the trophy this time as the team has strong players like Rahul Chaudari, Sukesh Hedge, Prashant Raj and experienced Dharmaraj Cheralathan,” said Srinivas Sriramineni. Titans has potentially the best corner defence with D. Gopu, Wasim Sajjad, Dharmaraj Cheralathan and Kalimuthu Balamahendran. “I have confidence in the new team and two more players from services, Sanju and Virender, will join the team soon. We have put together a talented squad for Season-3. Now, I have some experience to lead the team,” said Titans skipper Rahul Chaudhari.
