HYDERABAD: Finance minister T. Harish Rao said that the state government will issue job notifications to fill 28,000 vacancies in various departments within a week. The notification will pertain to Group-4 and other posts, he said. This will be a continuation of notifications issued to fill up 52,460 vacancies in the last three months, Harish Rao said.

"Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had assured the Legislative Assembly in March to fill 80,000 posts through direct recruitment. These notifications will be in tune with those promises," Harish Rao said in Sangareddy district on Thursday after launching various development programmes.

Rao pointed out that the recruitment process had to be delayed because of new districts and the Chief Minister’s keenness to bring in a zonal system to provide 95 per cent of jobs to the locals in every district.
