University authorities suspect someone hatched a conspiracy to create a bad name to the hostel mess
KAKINADA: The hostel mess in Adikavi Nannayya University is repeatedly courting controversy for one or other reason. A cockroach was detected in the lunch plate of a student in the hostel on Monday.
The hostel students say they are very worried about taking food in the mess.
On Sunday also, such an incident happened in the hostel. A boiled frog was seen in the breakfast given to one of the students.
The university ordered a probe into the incidents by the Officer on Special Duty Prof Teki. University authorities suspect someone hatched a conspiracy to create a bad name to the hostel mess.
University Registrar T Ashok said that on Sunday, a complaint was lodged by the students, saying that a frog was seen in the breakfast -- Upma- plate of a student. A team of university officials inquired into the incident and inspected the mess.
Recently, the students had organised an agitation seeking quality and tasty food and refund of the corpus funds.
The university authorities explained about the expenditure to the hostel and the mess and decided to repay Rs 2,000 to each student. But the next day, the students staged an agitation in front of the main gate. The university is currently taking steps to sort out the problems.
