‘Mistakes’ in Inter-II paper, say students
Board says evaluation is separate
The intermediate second year students on Thursday complained of errors in the question paper. Question Number 8, carrying five marks, in section-B of the Political Science (Civics) paper-II exam was different in the English and Telugu versions of the question papers.
The Telugu question paper asked, “Describe Home Rule movement in Indian Independence struggle”, while the English version asked, “Point out the main provisions of the Independence of India Act, 1947”.
Errors also crept into the question paper of the Mathematics IIA Urdu medium. Question Number 1 in the section-A had ‘Farji’ instead of ‘Zarbi’ which means multiplicative. The board said, “It is noticed that there is a variation in Question No. 8 of Political Science Il year between English & Telugu version question papers.
However, the Board has prepared the Scheme of Valuation for Telugu and English versions separately and valuation will be done accordingly. There is no ambiguity in this regard. Marks will be awarded for Telugu medium students whether Telugu version or English version Q. No. 8 is attempted as per the Scheme of Valuation.”
Meanwhile, 4,39,171 second year students had registered for the mathematics paper IIA, Botany paper II and Political Science paper II of which 21,876 were marked absent. 12 malpractice cases were also registered. Seven were from Vikarabad, 4 from Nagar Kurnool and 1 from Peddapalli.
